The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, has received accolades for maintaining a high level of professionalism, courage and resilience in the anti-corruption fight despite the challenges it faces in the course of duty.
The accolades came on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from officials of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS and Ex Boys Association of Nigerian Military School, Kaduna State who came on courtesy visits to the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC. They separately praised the Commission for its successes in the anti-corruption fight and pledged their continuous supports to the Commission.
Comptroller Ahmad Bello Shuaibu of Federal Operations Unit, Zone B Kaduna of the NCS in his remarks stated that the NCS and the EFCC had a long history of fruitful collaboration including operating a special task force and called for more stronger collaboration between the two agencies as a result of rising cases in fraudulent activities in the zone.
Mohammed Kabir Wushishi, State Chairman, Nigerian Military School Ex-boys Association, Kaduna State while presenting a letter of appreciation to the Commission disclosed that its Association came to formally register its support to the Commission and show appreciation for the EFCC’s presence during the Association's 70th Anniversary celebration recently.
In his responses, Dr Benedict Ubi, Acting Zonal Director, EFCC Kaduna Zonal Command, thanked the Nigerian Military School Ex-boys Association for the accolades and assured them that the Commission operated an open door policy and would continue to maintain good public relations with diverse publics in Nigeria. He further urged them to be anti-corruption ambassadors of the Commission by leading exemplary lives of integrity worthy of emulation by youths and all members of the society.
He welcomed the request for enhanced collaboration from the NCS, stating that the experiences, collaboration and expertise of all relevant agencies of government were needed to ensure success in the fight against the scourge of corruption in the country.
