The Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria, APPFLON, has sought collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to check fraudulent malpractices in the nation’s blue and green economies.
This call was made in Lagos on Thursday, August 22, 2024 by the Association’s President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, while on a courtesy visit to the Zonal Director of the Lagos Directorate of the EFCC ,Michael T. Wetkas.
Ogunojemite, while commending the EFCC’s efforts to fight corruption and economic and financial crimes in the country, described the visit as “a significant milestone” in the annals of the Association.
According to him, “Our visit today marks a significant milestone. We applaud the EFCC's strides to promote integrity in our industry and society."
He added that the partnership being sought would “strengthen the fight against corruption and promote ethical practices in the logistics and freight forwarding sector."
Responding, Wetkaz expressed the Commission’s willingness to partner with APPFLON to fight corruption in the Nigeria's blue and green economies.
